Paras Beach Resort

the roadtrippers!!☺
Paras beach resort is our home in our Camiguin Island trip. It is one of the best resort in the island with its great amenities.

As we arrived in the resort, they welcomed us with drinks and lay together with their beautiful smiles. They were so accommodating and the place is so relaxing.

We booked 2 dormitories, good for 12pax, and 2 family rooms good for 5-6pax. The rooms are so cozy especially the dorm type which where we stayed. There were towels for everyone, private toilet and bath with hot and cold shower and an lcd tv.

had our team building activity @ the poolside area

Camiguin Island

After the long trip, the escapades begin…
welcome to Camiguin Island! ☺
Arrived in Benoni Port at past 1pm. With Kuya waiting for us in our jeepney; our ride in the Island.
From the port, we headed straight to Mambajao which is 1 hour away from Benoni.
it's chow time!!
We booked our buffet lunch at JJ Pension House located in Rizal St., Mambajao.
lunch!!
After our sumptuous lunch, we checked-in to our resort. Paras Beach Resort is our home in the Island. (See my next post for our fun stay in Paras Beach Resort)

Tired from the long travel, we’ve decided to take some rest before exploring the whole island.

At past 3pm, we’ve started our island escapades.

Day 1
  • Overlooking Old Volcano
From the highway, there is a picturesque of the Old Volcano with the beach on view.
  •  Walkway to  the Old Volcano and station of the Cross
This is where you can really see the beautiful old volcano and during lent season they have  the station of the cross going up to the view deck.
We didn't go to the view deck and we just savor the moment in the starting point.
  • Sunken Cemetery
From the walkway, we headed straight to the sunken cemetery. There is a big cross in the middle of the sea and you can go there thru hiring a boat.
  • The Old Church
the group
The old church is wiped out during a volcanic eruption in the island. What remains are the walls, and convent which is an evidence to what happened in the past.

  • Ardent Hot Spring
We laid our tired body in the relaxing hot water of Ardent. The water comes from Mt. Hibok-hibok.

.. And our first day in the island ended in a fun stay in Paras Resort.

Day 2

We woke up at 5am to start our brand new day in Camiguin.
Cool blue waters to White Island

As the sun rises, we also booked our White Island escaped. Paid the necessary entrance and boat rental and we're off to the Island. By the way, White Island is just across Paras Beach resort and the boat terminal is just beside the resort. Very convenient on our part since were a big group.
so early in the morning. tourist with their colorful umbrella
  • White Island
me and the Camiguin Island as my background
White island is a long stretch of sand bar. Its form depends on the water but when we went there its some in letter "C" form. We got there too early for a low tide, so we haven't used our rented snorkel gear. So if you plan to snorkel don't go too early, wait for high tide to come.

walking from the other side of the sandbar
From the white island, you can see whole view of the Camiguin Island with picturesque of Mt. hibok-hibok and the old volcano.
our boat back to Paras Resort
  • Katibawasan falls

swim even if its so cold!! ☺
With its cascading waterfall and clear water its so inviting to swim, knowing that the water is so cold and very relaxing.

..And at past 12nn we hopped-in the ferry back to Balingoan Port.
Goodbye Camiguin!!
... Though it's a long trip, everything is worth it!
.... it's more fun in Camiguin Island!! ☺☺☺

Another Fun Roadtrip Experience: The Way to Camiguin Island

This is another roadtrip experience. (^_^)

Camiguin Island is situated in the Northern part of Mindanao. From General Santos City it is a more or less 9 hours of road trip depending on which way. And, we chooses the shorter one the Via Carmen, North Cotabato.
 Route: Gensan-Marbel-Tacurong-Pres. Quirino- Buluan-Datu Paglas-Tulunan-Matalam-Kabakan-Carmen-Maramag-Valencia-Malaybalay-CDO-Misamis Oriental-Mambajao

And the journey begins.....

@ Koronadal City, First stop-over
We left Gensan at 7 pm of Friday, 5 vehicles convoyed with each other. After almost 5 hours on the road, in the middle of the mountain in Carmen, North Cotabato one of the vehicle got a problem, we've stopped for awhile but knowing that its a dangerous area we let it run up to Maramag, Bukidnon and get some help.
what to do when stranded?? EAT!!!☺
And we're stranded in Maramag, Bukidnon for almost 3 hours then. Then we're off to Cagayan De oro at 3am.
@ Cagayan de Oro
At 6am, we were in the boundary of CDO and Bukidnon highway, and we had our breakfast there.
stop-over in the boundary of CDO and Bukidnon.. breakfast time!!!

.. the road to CDO
At past 10am we arrived at Balingoan Port, the gateway to Camiguin Island and we boarded the boat at 12nn and arrived Camiguin Island at past 1pm. And its, Hello Camiguin!!
@ Balingoan Port nearby parking lot
getting-off the barge after 1 hour
Our travel to Camiguin Island took us 17 hours because of some unexpected things but that made our trip fun and memorable. Camiguin is such a beautiful place. (^_^)
